I am going to run the New York City Marathon.Yep. Yesterday I got my entry. One of the very many nice things about working at ASICS is that we are sponsor of the New York Marathon and the company in Europe gets some entry numbers, and thanks to Jacques Valentin our promotions manager the Man and I get to go. Woohoo!!!! I definitely need a song for this……..
Knowing that I will be in New York in November seems to put my shin splints in perspective. This is the one which counts, so all steps made now are a step toward New York. It’s funny though, cos everytime we hit the little slopes on our runs, one of us usually cracks a joke about the hills in Central Park. We’ve been in New York in our heads for a while.
It’s that list:
the start at Staten
Verrazano Narrows
Brooklyn
Queens
The pain at Queensboro Bridge
the welcome of First Avenue
Bronx, and back
Harlem
Fifth Av
Central Park
and then the finish line outside the Tavern on the Green.
And here is the scenery to go with that:
what’s funny is 42km is even long on video…………………………
See you there, and good luck for the training :-)
Very cool song… Congrats and have fun; I’ll confess that I’m just a little jealous.
I can’t wait to see what you post about NYC!
That is SO COOL!
Congrats on the entry!
I will be following your training-blogposts
Have a great weekend
