I’m writing this at 9:58 am and I ‘m feeling rather tired, because we got up at 6:30am today and did a 10km run. It was a fairly quick one at that, and if I even think of the word bed, I may curl right here on my keyboard and drift off.

Not surprisingly we had the park mostly to ourselves, and the only gradual change was the traffic noise level as more and more people made their way to work.  The rabbits were being particularly stupid this morning, they obvisiouly feel that anyone up this early couldn’t possibly harm them.

I always had the idea that people who run in the morning are real runners. The real runners at ASICS run in the morning. I am proud I could pull it off once, but I could do with more time, I think I’ll have to push it back to a 6am start in order to get to work before 9. The Man is working at home today, so it doesn’t matter too much too him. But  I think he may be annoyed by all this pacing stuff we’re doing. Have I turned into a watch-nazi? Am I more concerned with my Polar than with the running?

I should chill out a bit and just run.

Song in my head today helped alot during the run, it was N17 by the timeless Saw Doctors, a true back-of-a-lorry band from Ireland who had a few hits and then sunk in to small music festival obscurity. I guess all these songs about unemployment and emigration are coming back into vogue in Ireland,  the times that used to be are back…..again.

Watch out for that girl in the foreground have a great slug of beer from tall can! oh those were the days before 6 euro pints in Cafe en Seine on Dawson Street.
