About me
I am an Irish girl living in Holland, more specifically Zaandam. I write about running and about life wherever I happen to be. Since I work for a sports company I think about running and sport quite alot.
My blog name is taken from the meaning of the word ASICS, the company I work for. ASICS stands for Anima Sana in Corpore Sano. A sound mind in a sound body. But this is very much a personal blog and the views I express here do not in any way reflect the views of ASICS as a company.
This blog is a place where I can be honest about what running does for me and where it takes me. Running has taken to me to very tiny Dutch villages, French vineyards, Spanish cities, Irish hills and all the way to down-town Manhattan and the finish line of the New York City Marathon in 2009. I hope you enjoy reading!

Hi!
Hoping you are well.
Re. your question in your comment on one of my posts (http://paranoid-and-running.blogspot.com/2009/04/frailty-thy-name-is-garmin.html).
Garmin is a Great tool and I would recommend it to each and every runner. Which type you choose depends on your needs, but the brand itself is very good (software updates, sturdy hardware, etc), a GPS device roxxx for running and they yield great stats (drool…).
What might be interesting is the size. The 205 and 305 are rather large-ish, whereas the 405 is smaller. Depending on your wrist, this might be a factor to take into account.
As to functionality, all the GPS based Garmin watches are great.
Should you have any questions, please let me know.
I found your blog through the search engine, with the words sound mind and body. I thought I make you aware of my website where I’m explaining how the mind and body are sound, holistic, integrated… , through the means of the athletic exercise of tennis.
Cheers!!!
Never knew what ASICS stood for. Cool to know it came from something meaningful.
ooops! thanks for the heads-up on the typo, I’m quite embarrassed by that!
No problem. Now that Junathon is ending, come join me at Julyathon! http://runningbetty.com/pushing-the-limits-709
